Vince Shlomi, the “Shamwow Man,” Enters Texas Legislature Race
Offer Vince Shlomi, famously known as the “Shamwow Man,” who gained popularity for promoting highly absorbent cleaning towels on late-night television, is now running for the Texas Legislature as a Republican. This information comes from state election records, and his application was officially submitted on Friday under the name Offer Vince “Shamwaw” Shlomi.
In an interview with Fox News Digital on Sunday, Shlomi expressed that his motivation to enter the race stems from a desire to “destroy Wakeism” and to honor Charlie Kirk, whom he refers to as the original “Wakebuster.” He also mentioned that ongoing “domestic political infighting” was a significant factor in his decision to run, aiming to “make America happy.”

At 61 years old, Shlomi, an Israeli-American entrepreneur, intends to challenge 84-year-old incumbent U.S. Rep. John Carter (R-Texas), who is seeking re-election in the same district. This area covers northern suburbs of Austin, as well as Temple and Fort Hood.
Shlomi is now one of at least five candidates vying for the GOP primary in Texas’ 31st Congressional District, which is known to be a Republican stronghold.

Shlomi, who serves as president and CEO of Square One Entertainment, rose to fame in the 2000s with his energetic pitch videos that showcased the ShamWow towel. However, his ascent was not without controversy; he faced several high-profile incidents, including allegations of harassment and physical confrontations, which prompted him to retreat from the public eye in recent years. He has reportedly been working on rehabilitating his image since then.
In 2009, he was arrested in Miami Beach following an alleged violent clash with a sex worker, a situation that was widely covered in tabloids, especially after police photos emerged showing injuries on his face.
Earlier in his career, he dealt with legal issues related to the underground comedy film The Underground Comedy Movie, released in 1999.
Despite his past controversies, Shlomi has kept a low profile of late, focusing on marketing and entrepreneurship once again.
