New Jersey Man Accused of Murder Laughs at Critics
A New Jersey man, Vincent Battilolo, is facing serious charges after allegedly killing two teenage girls. According to prosecutors, he intentionally struck 17-year-olds Maria Niotis and Isabella Salas with his car while they were riding electric bikes in Cranford on September 29, 2025. Battilolo, now 18, was charged with murder as an adult on June 26.
Interestingly, the day following the incident, he appeared on a YouTube livestream where he seemed unfazed, laughing off criticisms and remarking on the “engagement” generated by his actions. He mentioned how viewer interactions would benefit him financially, implying that the controversy was somehow a positive for his online presence.
During the stream, as people began commenting on the tragic deaths, Battilolo did briefly offer a response. “There’s a lot of misinformation out there,” he said, expressing condolences while hinting at details he claimed were misunderstood. Yet, he made it clear he wasn’t ready to divulge everything. This mix of arrogance and false sympathy left many viewers disturbed.
Authorities have revealed that Battilolo’s dashcam footage showed him driving a Jeep Compass to the area shortly before the collision. After parking, he was caught on video accelerating towards the girls. They were struck at high speed, and he fled the scene on foot, which raises questions about his state of mind during and after the incident.
On June 26, he transitioned from juvenile to adult court where he faces two counts of first-degree murder. A representative for Niotis’ family, Brent Bramnick, expressed relief that the case had moved to adult court. He indicated that this decision offers a measure of justice as the community continued to remember the two girls.
Additionally, Bramnick mentioned past incidents where Battilolo allegedly knocked on the Niotis’ home, which, unsurprisingly, has left the family anxious to uncover what really happened. They want clarity about the efforts made by local law enforcement following these unsettling events.
As the case unfolds, many are left wondering about Battilolo’s motivations and the implications of his actions, both online and offline. The community mourns the loss of Maria and Isabella, and there’s a growing desire for accountability.
