Minneapolis Protests Erupt After Border Patrol Shooting
Minneapolis saw significant unrest on Saturday following reports that Border Patrol agents shot and killed a man who had a firearm and ammunition, as stated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Exclusive video footage reveals a green armored vehicle racing down a street amidst a crowd of protesters. Many demonstrators surrounded the vehicle, some gesturing offensively and shouting, “Fuck you, ICE!” Others waved upside-down American flags and held signs declaring “ICE Out Now.” One protester, adorned with a scarf, attempted to grab a mirror from a passing car.
Amid the chaos, DCNF reporter Jorge Ventura described a tense moment, noting that the armored vehicle was about to move through a particularly charged area.
The crowd’s voices escalated, with shouts of “Fuck you!” directed at the vehicle. One protester yelled “Shame!” as chants grew louder. A sign reading “Arrest Jonathan Ross,” referenced an ICE officer allegedly involved in a fatal shooting earlier this year.
Ventura shared another video showing protesters hurling insults at law enforcement. In his post, he mentioned the crowd was swelling and a noticeable cloud of tear gas hung in the air.
Tensions appeared to intensify, with armored police vehicles arriving. Authorities had used CS gas to disperse the crowd, but that effort seemed futile as more people gathered in the area.
