Violet Affleck shares disagreement with Jennifer Garner about climate change related to the LA fires.

Violet Affleck Discusses Wildfire Impact

This week, Violet Affleck, the daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, provided insights about her and her mother’s connection to the January wildfire that impacted the Pacific Ocean’s Palisade district.

The 19-year-old shared her thoughts while reflecting on their time spent in a Los Angeles hotel room during discussions about the fire. She mentioned that her mother was taken aback by the extent of the devastation affecting friends and neighbors. “Is it? The Palisade burns though when?” she mused.

In her writing, she described some individuals in the hotel as viewing the wildfires as simply a “burst of bad luck,” a mix of harsh winds and limited rainfall. However, they acknowledged the connection to the ongoing “climate crisis.”

Garner and Affleck, who divorced in 2018, also share two other children, Finn (16) and Samuel (13). Affleck drew parallels between individuals wearing N95 masks due to the smoke from the recent fires and the health crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing that climate change also deserves attention, particularly in a divided society.

In her essay, she noted that the ending of the pandemic appears more like a public relations effort than a genuine public health solution, particularly as authorities face ongoing waves of infections.

Affleck pointed out that the virus poses risks even to the healthiest people, citing long COVID as an example. She described a moment from last summer when, during a Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors meeting, a college freshman, comfortable donning masks, expressed concern over a mask ban, highlighting the complexity of public health initiatives.

Despite the usefulness of masks, she advocated for more comprehensive measures to tackle COVID-19 and mitigate climate change. Her concluding thoughts revolved around shared struggles, suggesting that every success in combating climate change is a cause for celebration.

Reflecting on personal experiences, Garner has tried to instill humility in her children, emphasizing that their Los Angeles lifestyle doesn’t mirror the rest of the world. She reminisced about her own upbringing in the South, hoping her kids learn to appreciate simple pleasures, like stopping to smell the roses.

In a touching moment, images from Garner’s emotional reaction during Violet’s high school graduation last spring showcased the bond they share. “How do you make it? What are you going to do?” Garner asked, appearing quite emotional.

Fox News Digital reached out to Garner’s representatives for further comments.
