Hello, readers.
Sometimes, you come across something so perplexing that it really makes you wonder about the thought process behind it.
Virginia Democrats, let’s dive into today’s situation.
It honestly makes no sense.
The latest move from the Virginia Democratic Party is quite puzzling, to say the least.
So, here’s the deal: Young Republicans have had their private conversations leaked, revealing some rather unkind and bigoted remarks. Now, I mean, these fellows don’t seem like outright extremists, but they certainly think it’s edgy to casually toss around racist comments, even in their official chats.
This revelation sparked swift condemnations. Sure, that came easily. But honestly, the chats were pretty dull, not very engaging at all, and they really showcased poor judgment on their part.
It shouldn’t matter that many of these individuals are relatively unknown — I mean, I hadn’t heard of them before. At least one is a Republican state senator from Vermont, which is… amusing.
This leak follows on the heels of another notable text thread that surfaced, this time from Democratic Virginia attorney general hopeful Jay Jones. He expressed violent fantasies, talking about shooting a Republican, killing his family, and wishing for more police deaths. The underlying motive? To further his liberal agenda.
Surprisingly, the Democrats have stayed largely silent on this issue. The Democratic candidates, including Governor Abigail Spanberger, were pretty quiet. Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, who was a big deal for Hillary in 2016, chose to highlight Jones’s supposed remorse and suggested voters should make their voices heard.
(We’ll delve into what voters think later.)
You can certainly critique how they’ve handled such damning comments from someone vying for a high-ranking law enforcement position. But, on the flip side, you have to give them credit for sticking together. No Democrat has withdrawn support or called for Jones to step down.
Then, someone in the Virginia Democratic communications team decided to channel their inner Leeroy Jenkins.
On that note of mishaps, whoever crafted this press release displayed some serious political naivety, much like the young Republicans did.
Sears quickly responded to the release, reversing course almost immediately.
“It’s simple: they absolutely must resign,” she tweeted. “Your turn now, Abigail.”
Political journalists couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer absurdity of it all.
Now, if you unpack this statement, I must admit, I can’t hide my disbelief. I quickly looked up to see if there were any young Virginia Republicans willing to rally behind Thomas Turner. His grievance stemmed from being attacked during the chat. But who’s spontaneously joining him? The press release doesn’t clarify, and honestly, it seems like the authors might not even know who they truly want to oust.
It feels like a messy situation caused by a careless state party. Now they have to deal with the fallout.
And what were they thinking? In short, the moral compass of the Democratic Party has shifted significantly over the last decade. Racism and offensive jokes, regardless of context, are seen as the worst sins, while the highest virtue is advocating violence against political foes.
Remember how some wished for more accuracy from Thomas Crooks? Virginia liberals appear to operate in the same vein.
In a recent poll concerning Lieutenant Governor John Reed, it was noted that a whopping 93% of Virginia Democrats…
I’m not personally offended by Jay Jones’s comments. But if you were to toss around a term like “retarded” at a dinner party with this crowd, I reckon you’d find yourself quickly cut off and unfriended.
This isn’t speculation; I’ve lived in Northern Virginia for over a decade. I’ve encountered those who, back in 2021, would berate you for not wearing a mask at a grocery store. They’ve shouted out in parking lots, demanding death for various figures.
But Jay Jones’s open wish for violence is somehow overlooked.
It’s worth stating that it seems acceptable in their eyes for Republicans to meet violent ends, whether through murder or otherwise. Those liberals who celebrated the death of a Republican seem to face no consequences. They draw the line somewhere else.
Flashback to when reporters penned frantic articles about various educators and professionals losing their jobs after publicly condoning the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Even if it wasn’t analogous, they chalked it up to Republican “cancel culture.” It’s not as if those problematic tweets date back to 2010. These individuals openly displayed their moral failings. And honestly, I really do wonder if those entrusted with my kids’ education and my family’s healthcare were thrilled by the prospect of a Republican’s death.
To grasp how these moral standards unfold, all we need is to look at the hailed figures in each party. Democrats have turned George Floyd into a martyr, while Republicans have supported Charlie Kirk. Democrats will advocate for “Maryland Priest” Abrego Garcia, an alleged MS-13 trafficker, while Republicans defend Corey Comperatore, a Pennsylvania firefighter who lost his life during an assassination attempt on President Trump.
On one side are those who fit neatly into a liberal narrative while causing chaos in society. On the other are peaceful individuals simply holding different views.
The blunder made by Virginia Democrats appears to come from a belief they had a winning card. What could possibly be worse than a racial slur in a chat? Apparently, nothing — not even the murder of a political opponent.
Just yesterday, a lenient sentence was handed down by an activist judge to teens who nearly killed a DOGE employee in Washington, D.C. They got off with probation. The judge claimed her role wasn’t to punish, but to rehabilitate.
Liberal commentators might bemoan the “hopeless doctrine,” but the message remains clear.
It seems the top virtue in play is to assault or even murder conservatives, but good luck if you happen to use an inappropriate term in a private conversation that leaks.
