Virginia GOP Chairman Dismisses Inquiries About Democrat Election Fraud Scandal While RINO Supporters Applaud

Controversy Surrounds Warren County Republican Committee Election

A journalist from Breitbart News was reportedly shut down during a recent local Republican Party meeting in Virginia. The newly elected chairman was questioned about the inclusivity of Democratic voters in the election process, a topic that stirred significant debate.

The Warren County Republican Committee (WCRC) has faced criticism following its February 12 meeting, where allegations of election fraud and bylaw violations were raised. Reports surfaced indicating that ballots were issued to Democrats, and a conservative party was denied entry under dubious claims of “fire code” violations.

A former whistleblower described the situation as akin to a “Trojan horse,” suggesting that certain Republicans—known colloquially as RINOs—facilitated the inclusion of Democrats in the voting of a new WCRC president, David Shirek.

Shirek has faced negative portrayals, being labeled as a “right-wing extremist” by some. Tensions were evident when he found himself in conflict with Scott Lloyd, a devout Catholic who had previously led a protest against a local library’s book collection focusing on transgender topics.

Several of Shirek’s backers, including Warren County Sheriff Crystal Klein and County Supervisor Hugh Henry, share contentious views that have drawn criticism. They have been described online as “radicals” for their opposition to children’s books that discuss transgender issues. Henry expressed concerns during meetings about “Catholic issues” needing resolution.

In the chairman election, Lloyd received 206 votes while Shirek garnered 225. Lloyd has since submitted an appeal supported by signatures from numerous advocates, questioning the integrity of the election, especially after certain members felt they were unfairly removed from the voting process.

Breitbart News producer Matthew Purdy confronted Shirek during a WCRC meeting on March 24, asking whether Democrats should have voting rights in Republican committee elections. The response from local legislators seemed hesitant and disorganized, highlighting the contentious atmosphere surrounding the issue.

Notably, Virginia law does not ask for party affiliation at voting registration. Still, the Republican Party of Virginia establishes rules for committee voting, which includes signing a pledge indicating loyalty to the party.

Witnesses from the February 12 meeting claimed that Democrats allied with Shirek were given ballots without adhering to proper certification procedures. Allegations persisted, suggesting that individuals including Sheriff Klein hindered others from entering to vote, and there were even claims of physical altercations occurring during the event.

Purdy continued to press the issue at a later rally, emphasizing that the Virginia Republican Party should clarify its voting rules, particularly in light of participation by “consistent Democrats.” Shirek retorted that Purdy’s inquiries were “out of order” for the meeting’s purpose.

At the same time, some in the audience, aligned with Shirek, appeared to support his stance against the questioning. The situation highlighted divisions within the committee, particularly around the acceptance of Democratic input in what traditionally has been a Republican space.

Lloyd’s appeal is scheduled for review by the Virginia Sixth District Republican Committee, raising concerns about attendance, given the date falls during Holy Week. A minimum of one-third of committee members must be present for a quorum, prompting worries that the hearing may be postponed.

Responding to inquiries about the contentious meeting, committee chairman John Massoud described the event as chaotic while acknowledging that at least three Democrats were present. Matters worsened as Sheriff Klein was recently involved in discussions around membership reductions within the WCRC, effectively displacing several Republican voters.

Klein confirmed her role in managing applications related to the committee, but clarified that she did not orchestrate the controversial meeting itself. Both Klein and her fellow committee members have faced scrutiny regarding their unwillingness to address the issue of Democratic participation in Republican elections.

Lloyd’s appeal has underscored a significant point: the integrity of the commission’s election processes is paramount. The document presented in support of the appeal asserts that if Republican leadership demands election integrity of others, it must likewise uphold those standards within its own ranks.
