Visa cancellations are already happening for foreigners who celebrate Charlie Kirk’s assassination, says Marco Rubio: ‘Get ready to be deported’

U.S. Moves to Revoke Visas for Those Celebrating Violence

On Monday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that the Trump administration has started taking steps to revoke visas for foreigners who “celebrate the deaths” of American citizens, including those of Charlie Kirk.

In a post on social media, Rubio emphasized that “America will not host foreigners celebrating the death of our fellow citizens.” He also confirmed that the process of canceling these visas has already begun.

During an interview with Fox News, he elaborated on the expected standards for visitors to the U.S. “We shouldn’t be handing out visas to anyone involved in serious violence, like murders or celebrating political assassinations,” he said. “And, frankly, if they’re already here, we should cancel their visas.”

This announcement comes on the heels of social media reactions to the assassination of Kirk on September 10, where many foreign users appeared to celebrate the violent act.

Rubio expressed frustration over such sentiments, stating that he’s tired of seeing praise for violence online. He instructed consulates to monitor and address these comments and encouraged the public to report any instances where foreigners make these kinds of statements.

In a related effort, the State Department has recently reviewed social media accounts of foreign-born students and has revoked over 6,000 student visas due to posts showing support for Hamas and other terrorist organizations. Overall, the message is clear: those who promote violence and hatred are not welcome in the United States.
