Influencers Regret Trip to Portland

Two British influencers found themselves quickly regretting their choice to visit Portland, Oregon, deciding to leave the city almost immediately.

The influencers are embarking on a three-month journey across the United States, starting with Portland. Will Bailey shared his experience on TikTok, expressing his immediate regret after encountering incidents of gun violence, homelessness, and crime during their visit.

“We really couldn’t have picked a worse place to kick off our U.S. tour than Portland. This city doesn’t feel safe at all. Crime and homelessness are everywhere, and we saw it for ourselves as soon as we got here,” Bailey remarked.

Bailey described being jolted awake in the early hours by gunshots, sirens, and shouting.

“It’s tough to feel secure here,” he continued. “I usually feel capable of defending myself, but sometimes it’s just wiser to leave while you still can. We’re already looking to move on to a safer spot.”

In a separate note regarding the city, left-leaning officials have been invoking zoning laws to hinder the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) concerning undocumented immigrants. City authorities recently passed a resolution urging the administration of Democratic Mayor Keith Wilson to pursue legal action against federal agents accused of excessive force towards protesters at ICE locations.

The FBI in Portland has reported at least 195 arrests of protesters outside ICE facilities since June, with allegations that some aimed to breach or attack law enforcement.

Three individuals were detained during a “No Kings” protest outside an ICE facility on Saturday.

An appeals court decided on Monday that President Trump can send the National Guard to Portland to safeguard law enforcement amid ongoing protests and rioting near the facility while the legal matters unfold.
