“The crackdown on what's called Trump and what's called Vance was a hallmark of the first few weeks of their administration,” continued Cates and Claidman. “The extensive scale-back of DEI programs across academia, government, and businesses marked some of the administration's early marquee victories.”

“I don't like Day, I'm proud of what our administration has done in that respect,” Vance told CBS News.
“But I love my mother in law. If she doesn't share my opinion about Day, I think I have to do when 99% of Americans face families that don't agree with them all the time: get over that,” Vance added. “This story exists because CBS determined that it was reasonable to harass my stepmother to attack President Trump.”
CBS News did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.

Vance also told CBS that she chose to focus on Chilkuri's “kindness and the fact that she is an incredible mother and beloved grandmother to the most important people of my life.”
A CBS News article stated, “The Trump administration has attacked DEI on university campuses by cancelling certain enthusiasm, threats, lawsuits and federal funds,” and said “Vance is “speaking up about his fight against DEI.”
Certainly, the Trump administration has made its top priority to banish Day from federal officials, and the president has signed multiple executive orders aimed at claiming that it is a practice that would do more harm than good by ignoring meritocracy.
CBS also confirmed that their parent company has abandoned the DEI initiative since Trump took office.
