Vice President JD Vance announced that President Donald Trump will travel to Greenland on Friday with his wife, Mrs. Usha Vance, with the possibility of annexing the country.

Vance pointed out that the reason for his visit was to “check what's going on in Greenland security.”

As previously reported on March 24thththe second woman was already expected to spend several days in Greenland without her husband. While traveling to the capital, I attended several cultural events along the way.

“I was very excited about Usha's visit to Greenland this Friday, so I decided that she didn't want that much fun on her own, so I'll join her,” Vance said in the X-Video released Tuesday.

Nevertheless, Vance's visit has been criticized by several fierce Greenland and Danish officials as a provocation of President Donald Trump's intention to take control of the island.

Greenland is a semi-autonomous country as Denmark controls the foreign policy and defense of the Ice Island. However, the island's independence movement is becoming increasingly popular.

Following the initial announcement, Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredericksen vowed to resist, calling the second woman's visit “unacceptable pressure.” Frontline Jens Frederick Nielsen, who will become Greenland's next prime minister, argued that the visit showed a “lack of respect for the people of Greenland.”

The vice presidential couple's trip will reportedly be limited to visiting Pitafik Space Station in Greenland, where the U.S. Space Force Group is stationed.

“We want to reinvigorate the safety of the people of Greenland because we believe it is important to protect the safety of the whole world,” Vance continued. “We'll look at how things are going as many other countries have threatened Greenland, using its territory and waterways to threaten the United States, threaten Canada, and of course the people of Greenland.”

“The strategic partnership between the United States and Greenland has long played an important role in our national and economic security. During World War II, the United States established dozens of military bases in Greenland to defend the North Atlantic from Nazi invasions.

“Since then, neglect and inaction from Danish leaders and past US administrations have given the enemy the opportunity to advance their priorities in Greenland and the Arctic,” the statement continued.

Nevertheless, other Danish lawmakers, including Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, appear to be clearly seeing revised plans for visiting US bases despite criticism from several quarters. Denmark visited the base and said it “has no objection,” he said, adding that the visit was “very positive.”

Rasmussen also said that it “in many ways, in many ways, [the U.S.] When they are actually discalating, they appear to be escalating. ”

President Trump has shown that he wants the US to buy Greenland, representing the US strategic location for its geographical location, dating back to 2019.

“I think Greenland will be settled together with us. I think we have that. People want to be with us,” Trump said in January.

“I don't really know what Denmark is making about it. But if we don't allow it to happen because it's to protect the free world, it would be a very unkind act. It's not for us, but for the free world,” Trump continued.

At a cabinet meeting on Monday, President Trump denied claims that the visit was somehow confrontational.

“This is not provocation, it's familiarity. We deal with a lot of people in Greenland who want to see something happen when it comes to being properly protected and being properly cared for. They're calling us. We're not calling them,” Trump said Monday.
