Comedian Bill Maher said in a recent interview that he was fed up with repeated warnings that Republican candidate Donald Trump would become a dictator.
“When people come up to me and say, ‘What are you going to do?’ I’m like, ‘It doesn’t look like the world is falling apart.’ Maybe it will be tomorrow.” he told Maureen Dowd of the New York Times. In an interview.
“Look, I lost my nervous system once under the Trump administration. I won’t do it again. Wake me up when he blows up the world. For all his stupid tweets and all his stupid actions. You can’t put your nervous system at risk every day.”
Democrats and some members of the media have repeatedly warned against a second term for President Trump, claiming that if elected, former President Trump would become a dictator.
Maher, who has criticized both Presidents Biden and Donald Trump, told Dowd that he has “a soft spot for this crazy mess of our country.”
Mr. Maher told Mr. Dowd that Americans should stop acting as if the country was headed toward civil war, saying, “We should start seeing each other not as mortal enemies, but as mere roommates from hell.” Must be,” he added.
After Biden and Trump agreed to dates for two debates, Maher said the president was only doing it because he was “losing.”
“Biden probably knows he’s going to lose because he wouldn’t have agreed otherwise,” Maher said Friday. “Only losers want to argue.”
Maher marveled at the idea of a summer debate, with the first debate scheduled for June 27, noting, “They haven’t held a convention yet.”
The comedian insisted that Biden still has something to prove in the upcoming debates.
“Trump is a known commodity. They know he’s going to be shitty – eh. He’s going to hide and grovel and not follow the rules and all that. But Biden, they I want to see living proof,” he said.
During the interview, Dowd asked Marr if he ever felt like he was “banging my head against a wall.”
He said yes, but added: “We must continue sailing.”
“I don’t want to hate half the country,” he told Dowd. “I please do not I hate half the country. And I don’t want America to get divorced. ”
