Late night host Bill Maher brutally teased President Biden’s age. It included a scene in which the comedian used a walker to deliver a sample State of the Union address as the 46th president.
Biden, now 81, should embrace life and spend less time trying to deny the obvious, Maher said.
“Rather than try to refute criticisms that are too old to be president, Joe should embrace them. Stop saying, ‘I’m sharper than I’ve ever been,’ nobody supports that.” I don’t. Don’t try to deny the age thing. Lean in and lean in like you would eat soup,” Maher, 68, said.
Maher said Biden should ditch TikTok and try to seem cool to younger voters, instead reaching out to older people, a demographic he described as the “Matlock crowd.”
“Admit it, I’m terrible with names and walk like a toddler fully in diapers. I believe in democracy,” he continued. “Then next Thursday is the day the President releases the State of the Union. I say he should fly the old fart flag.”
Maher then aired a skit in which Biden limped to the podium with a walker, dubbed “Walker One,” to address Congress full of errors.
“When I first came here as a Washington senator, my friends welcomed me with open arms, but it wasn’t a place for guys to hang out. And that’s a virtue. Our Defense. We don’t want to leave it to young people. We need a president who can stand up to Russia and say to the current president, Mr. Gorbachev, “Get off my lawn,” Maher quipped.
Questions about Biden’s age continue to plague his re-election campaign.
White House doctors insist Biden qualifies as a fiddle, but new questions have arisen since Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report called the president an “old man with a bad memory.” .
