Minnesota Governor and Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz came under fire on social media this week for visiting the luxury Manhattan mansion of Alex Soros, the son of billionaire liberal megadonor George Soros.
“It's an honor to welcome Governor Tim Walz to my New York City home!” said Alex Soros, who succeeded his father at the multi-billion dollar Open Society Foundations (OSF). Post to X On Tuesday, she was also photographed side-by-side with Waltz in front of the New York City skyline.
The post was widely criticized by conservatives on social media, who argued that standing next to one of America's most progressive families tarnished Walz's image as a “rural” moderate.

This was at least the second time Waltz has met with Alex Soros in the past month. Photos circulated on social media during the Democratic National Convention in August showed Soros, his new fiancée Huma Abedin, and Waltz meeting in Chicago.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Harris-Waltz campaign and the Soros Open Society Foundations for comment but did not receive a response.
Waltz is Widely advertised While various media outlets have seen him as a potential vice presidential candidate who could help Harris win over rural Midwestern voters, George Soros is one of the most polarizing progressives in American politics and is often criticized by Republicans for using his vast fortune to implement far-left policies.
