Governor Tim Waltz Faces Tough Question at Hearing
During a recent session with the House Oversight Committee, Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz found himself in an awkward position after being posed a straightforward question: “What is a woman?” This inquiry came from GOP Representative Nancy Mace.
Waltz took a moment to ponder the question before admitting, “I don’t know if I understand the question here.” He then asked, “What do you want to say to me?”
Mace responded firmly, asserting, “I want you to say that women like me are adult human women. Men can’t be women. You are a party of violence; you are a party that erases women. You do not respect us.”
Mace has been vocal in her stance against transgender individuals in contexts she believes undermine women’s rights, such as sports and public restrooms. She later tweeted about the encounter, saying, “Tampon Tim Waltz couldn’t define women today. He was speechless.” The nickname “Tampon Tim” stems from a Minnesota law requiring schools to provide tampons to all students who menstruate, even in men’s restrooms.
In a separate exchange, Mace referenced Waltz’s past comments about military service and his views on the U.S. military, indicating that he has expressed a dislike for America. This reinforced her stance that his position is not in alignment with traditional values.
