Warning issued after Bad Bunny selected for Super Bowl halftime show: 'We will deport you'

The Trump administration has announced plans to enforce federal immigration laws at Super Bowl LX after the NFL revealed that Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny would perform during the Halftime Show.

The NFL made the announcement on Sunday, naming Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, known as Bad Bunny, as the Halftime performer. This decision triggered significant backlash, particularly given the artist’s recent comments about immigration and enforcement practices.

Earlier, Ocasio stated that he opted not to tour in the U.S. due to “mass deportations of Latinos.” He acknowledged that his past performances in the U.S. were successful, but he expressed concerns over the current immigration climate.

In a recent episode of the “Benny Show,” Corey Lewandowski, an advisor to President Trump, addressed Ocasio’s concerns regarding illegal immigration. He confirmed that ICE agents would be present at the event.

“There’s no safe space for illegal immigrants in this country. It’s not just a Super Bowl issue; it’s a nationwide situation,” Lewandowski elaborated.

As a special civil servant with the Department of Homeland Security, he issued a stark warning to undocumented individuals: “We will find you, arrest you, detain you, and deport you. This reflects the current administration’s tough stance.”

Bad Bunny’s political views are well-known; he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election after publicly criticizing a comedian’s joke that touched on issues in Puerto Rico. “I get that it’s humor, but not everyone interprets it that way,” he remarked.

He also released a music video on July 4th, where he painted the Puerto Rican flag over the Statue of Liberty, which further amplified his political statements.

Lewandowski criticized the choice of Bad Bunny for the Super Bowl, suggesting it was inappropriate to feature someone perceived as anti-American. “We should be looking for inclusive performers,” he insisted.

The Super Bowl LX is set for February 8th, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
