Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic was hospitalized Tuesday night after suffering a “sudden and serious health issue” at a restaurant in Salt Lake City. According to ESPN.
According to ESPN, Milojevic was traveling to Utah with the team ahead of Wednesday's road game against the Jazz, and the coaches and players were eating together when the incident occurred.
Milojevic, 46, joined the Warriors' coaching staff in 2021 and led Golden State to a championship with the team, defeating Boston in the NBA Finals in 2022.
Milojevic has worked with the Warriors' big players over the years and helped two-time Nuggets MVP Nikola Jokic become arguably the best player in the sport.
The Serbian player coached his compatriot for two and a half years, Contributing to his passing improvement, Since then, Jokic has developed into an elite passing big, according to ESPN.
“For him to be an NBA player, he has to have some elite skill set,” Milojevic told ESPN. “His passing was elite.”
Milojevic spent his playing career abroad before turning to coaching.
He played in his native Serbia, Spain, Montenegro and Turkey during his 14-year career and was named Adriatic League Player of the Year three times from 2004 to 2006.

Before joining Steve Kerr's coaching staff, Milojevic was the head coach of KK Buduknost in Montenegro's Adriatic League.
He was also the head coach of Serbia's KK Megabasket from 2012 to 2020, and was appointed assistant coach of the Serbian national team in 2019.
The Warriors (18-22) entered Wednesday's road game a game and a half behind the Lakers and Rockets for the final spot in the play-in tournament, but it was one of the NBA's biggest disappointments.
