A shoving match between Draymond Green and Desmond Bane led to a huge brawl during the second quarter of Wednesday’s Warriors-Grizzlies game at Chase Center.
This was the latest exchange Green had participated in this season, but it was far less controversial than previous instances.
The whole commotion started after an exchange under the basket between Green and Santi Aldama, and Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins tried to exchange words with the referee during the next stoppage of play.
Green tried to distance himself from Jenkins by getting too close to him for Bane’s liking, which led to further drama, as other players and officials tried to insert themselves into the middle of the situation, and the Warriors’ This led to Gary Payton II trying to pull Green away. .
At one point, Payton and Green were shoved by Jenkins, who had his back turned during another engagement with the referee, knocking the Memphis coach to the floor.
Green and Bayne each received technical evaluations, and things cooled down from there.
Immediately after, the two were seen shaking hands to show their respect for each other.
It’s been an interesting season to say the least for Green, who has been suspended twice for on-court assaults.
In November, he was banned from the league for putting Rudy Gobert of the Timberwolves in a headlock.
In December, he was suspended indefinitely by the NBA for hitting Suns forward Jusuf Nurkic with a spinning backfist.

The NBA cited his “recurrent history of unsportsmanlike conduct” as the reason for the hefty suspension.
Green entered Wednesday night’s game averaging 8.8 points, 7.1 assists and 6.0 assists per game.
