Green argued that the Knicks’ playoff success was at least partially due to the mediocre competition the team faced this year.

They reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, but lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in five games. The Bucks went on to win the NBA Finals that season.

“…Another team that did this just to give perspective was the Portland Trail Blazers a few years ago. At the time, they had Al-Farouq Aminu and Allen Crabbe. All of them “We got to the conference finals and we pretty much beat them all without Stephen Curry,” Green said.

“Then Portland ran away and paid all those players because they thought they were a team with a chance and it was a fluke and the Knicks are going to do that. Maybe later. It’s going to last 15 years.” It’s going to be tragic and we’re all going to sit back and laugh at the delusional Knicks fans because that’s what actually happens. ”
