Chuck Lorre Critiques Trump at Charity Gala

CBS producer Chuck Lorre directed sharp criticism at President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump during a recent charity event in Los Angeles. He was there to accept an award for his support of Project Angel Food, as reported on NewsBusters.

While addressing the audience, Lorre didn’t hold back. “The burden of my profession demands that I take this opportunity to say a few words about that bloated orange piece of shit in the White House,” he remarked, which elicited cheers from the crowd. “Okay, I do have the right audience,” he added, seemingly pleased with the reaction.

He went on to express his admiration for those involved with Project Angel Food, but as a comedy writer, he felt compelled to voice his thoughts on the state of the nation. “I wake up every morning, turn on CNN to see if the President of the United States had a heart attack while straining to take a dump,” he shared, blending humor with his concerns. He also questioned how the country could appreciate a figure like Michelle Obama while accepting Melania Trump, whom he described in less flattering terms.

Lorre concluded his speech with a comedic twist on the Alcoholic’s Prayer: “God, grant me the serenity to no longer give a shit about all the stupid people in this country. The courage to say Donald Trump is a Russian asset who traded teenagers with Jeffrey Epstein, and the wisdom to end on a cheap laugh. Thank you very much.”

This isn’t the first instance of Lorre targeting Trump; in 2019, he made claims about the president potentially having syphilis or brain damage at birth, as noted by Breitbart News. Earlier, he had also described Trump in extreme terms, calling him a “fascist, hate-filled, fear-mongering, demagogic, truth-shattering, autocratic golf cheater,” even suggesting the possibility of “a little Old Testament wrath” aimed at him.
