WATCH: Dramatic dashcam video shows moment Sacramento driver flies off busy overpass

The dashcam captured a scary moment.

Police responded to the scene of the Sacramento accident just before 1pm on Monday and found an injured driver. He was taken to hospital, where he was critical but in a stable state, police said.

The accident was captured by a driver's dash camera passing through the highway below.

Kyman Jeung told local outlet KCRA-TV that it was still “edge” hours after the incident unfolded.

“It was a few hours, but I'm still very close to what it could have been,” Jeung said.

In the footage, there are only moments when a car or other debris from the above tree falls onto the highway, and he or the other drivers react.

“It all happened in slow motion. I saw the car fall and the wood section fall. It was about assessing the situation and understanding the most painless way to get through it. That was no way around that,” he said.

Police reported that traffic statements via X and the closing of West El Camino Avenue between Gateway Oaks Drive and Azevedo Drive.

Police said the vehicle driver was the only person taken to the hospital.
