Despite having been doing stand-up comedy for 40 years, [Jerry Seinfeld’s] “Political beliefs,” says Dave Rubin.
But then things changed: After Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel last October, Jerry, who is Jewish, went to Israel and “basically said, ‘Jews have the right to defend themselves,'” making him “enemy number one for all Hamas supporters.”
During a show in Sydney, Australia last weekend, the comedian thoroughly beat up a protester who began chanting, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a genius here who has solved the problem of the Middle East … Jewish comedians. They’re the ones we need to get!” he joked.
Protesters continued chanting as they were escorted away by security, but Seinfeld didn’t finish the song.
“You’re going to start getting punched in three seconds so bring out all your talents and let’s all learn from this. This is a comedy show, you idiot. Get out of here.”
As the chanting didn’t stop, Seinfeld added, “You’re really inspiring everyone here. You’ve expressed your opinion so well that we’re all on your side. … This is a great place to have a political discussion.”
“Tomorrow’s papers will say, ‘The Middle East problem is 100% solved because this guy at Qudos Arena stopped a Jewish comedian’… and everyone in the Middle East will be like, ‘Oh my God, let’s get along.'”
“You need to embarrass comedians by being 20,000 miles away from the problem. That’s how you solve the world’s problems,” he joked.
Dave, a longtime admirer of Jerry’s intelligence, admires his willingness to call out insanity.
“Why would you go to a Jerry Seinfeld stand-up concert and do that?” he asked rhetorically, adding that woke protesters “think they own everything” and are “trying to ruin everything.”
