Watch live: JD Vance campaigns in Michigan after VP debate

Former President Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), will speak at a campaign rally in the battleground state of Michigan on Wednesday afternoon.

The event came a day after Vance and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz met for the first time in a debate. During a roughly 90-minute forum hosted by CBS News in New York City, the two discussed policy on issues ranging from abortion to immigration to guns.

Although post-debate polls showed no clear winner, the Ohio Republican's performance appeared to be well-received. This is in contrast to the vice presidential candidate's demeanor in the first and perhaps only presidential debate against Vice President Harris last month.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) also praised Vance's performance Tuesday night, saying he is a better debater than Trump.

Mr. Vance's talk in Auburn Hills, Michigan is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. EDT.
