Former President Trump's running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), was invited to a town hall in North Carolina on Thursday.
During the campaign, Vance was expected to target the Biden-Harris administration on inflation, immigration and the federal response to Hurricane Helen, according to a campaign release. The trip comes on the heels of the devastation Helen left in critical battleground states, posing new hurdles for voters and election officials.
President Trump visited North Carolina last week to inspect the damage.
campaign was also announced Former race car driver Danica Patrick will be the event's special guest host.
Trump leads Vice President Harris by less than a point in the Tar Heel State (49.3% to 48.6%), according to Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling.
The town hall was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. EDT in Greensboro, North Carolina.
