With the recent passage of the bipartisan ADVANCE Act, which aims to bolster U.S. nuclear power generation, America’s energy future is looking a little brighter.
The new law aims to expand how America generates electricity and build more resilient infrastructure to meet the burgeoning energy demand caused by data centers, electric vehicles, and factories reshoring.
The law is not without criticism and controversy, with concerns growing about potential safety issues and challenges associated with nuclear waste.
Meanwhile, some argue that the new law is simply not enough to keep up with countries like India and China, which are building far more nuclear reactors than the United States.
China alone currently has 27 nuclear reactors under development.
The debate now becomes where America goes from here.
Join The Hill as we bring together clean energy experts and executives to answer questions about the potential role of nuclear power in meeting electricity demand and how the regulatory process can be changed while protecting safety and the environment.
