Former President Trump will continue his tour of battleground states in Michigan on Friday, hosting a town hall in suburban Detroit the day after the first absentee ballots were mailed out.
The economy and the state's auto industry are likely to be targeted According to a recent campaign statement, the conversation at the event.
“Michigan is proud to be the Auto Capital of the World, and automobiles are the backbone of Michigan's economy,” the campaign wrote earlier this week. “President Donald J. Trump has shown time and time again that he is committed to supporting and rebuilding the auto industry, starting with encouraging American manufacturing jobs.”
President Trump also stopped in suburban Grand Rapids on Friday afternoon to speak about inflation and the economy from FALK Productions in Walker, Michigan.
The former president leads Democratic candidate Vice President Harris in the Great Lakes state by just over a point, 48.8% to 47.7%, according to Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling index.
