Former President Trump is scheduled to stop in the key battleground state of North Carolina on Saturday afternoon for a rally focused on the economy and jobs.
In a press release, the Trump campaign slammed his Democratic rival, Vice President Harris, saying her campaign was linked to “disastrous policies” implemented under the Biden administration.
“The American Dream is disappearing under Kamala Harris' Administration, and hardworking North Carolinians are paying the price,” the campaign wrote. “Americans still overwhelmingly want what their generation had: a home of their own, the ability to raise a family, and a comfortable retirement. But Kamala Harris is singlehandedly destroying these aspirations with her disastrous policies.”
The rally comes amid criticism from Democrats over President Trump's endorsement of North Carolina gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson, a Republican who will not be attending Saturday's rally, following a scathing CNN report on the state's governor.
Trump has a slight lead over Harris in the Tar Heel State, with 48.4% approval rating to Harris' 47.9%, according to The Hill/Decision Desk Polling Index.
Trump's speech in Wilmington, North Carolina is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. EDT.
