WATCH Riley Gaines shares neverbeforetold details Lia Thomas

Just last week, Riley Gaines appeared on “The Joe Rogan Experience” with Joe Rogan and discussed the intimate details of competing against trans swimmer Leah Thomas.

At the national championships, “we were told we had to treat this person fully as a woman,” Gaines said.

But most people already knew that.

What they don’t know is who else was playing in the same tournament.

“We had another athlete who was transitioning, and because this athlete was female and identified as male at the time, we were told that we needed to treat this person fully as a man. ” she explained.

“Among the top eight women in America, a 6-foot-4 man wearing a women’s swimsuit with bulging breasts sits next to a woman wearing nothing but a speedo with her upper body uncovered.”

“This is a hell of a Twilight Zone,” Gaines told Logan, who looked horrified.

However, my association with gender politics did not last long.

The day after Thomas swam the 500 freestyle and beat an Olympian to win the national title… [and] Gaines had to compete with him in the 200m freestyle.

“I jump on the block, swim eight laps of freestyle, and finally touch the ball. I look up at the scoreboard and, almost improbably, Joe, we were scoring at the exact same time, which means of course It was a tie,” Gaines said. “I can’t say it wasn’t divine intervention.”

But when the two got to the podium, something completely incomprehensible happened.

“The official looked at both of us and said, ‘You both did a great job, but you’re tied and there’s only one trophy, so I’m going to give the trophy to Leah,'” Gaines said. He spoke with an incredulous expression. A look of surprise is described as spread across Logan’s face.

Gaines’ first words upon hearing this were, “Isn’t this all that was passed to prevent Title IX from happening?”

But, of course, the presenter had no answer. Either way, it wasn’t a legitimate answer.

“Actually, we’re just doing this in chronological order,” was his first excuse.

“The G comes before the T,” Gaines said, pointing that out to the man.

“Eventually, he realized he didn’t have a valid reason…This official looked at me and said, ‘Riley, I’m sorry, but we, as an organization, don’t want to take pictures. I’ve been advised that it’s important to: The trophy is in Leah’s hands… Leah takes the trophy home.” But, “eventually, it can be mailed.” ”
