In her speech, Lively, who was recognized by the magazine as one of the “most influential people of 2025,” spoke about her mother Willie Elaine McAlpin, who attended the starry sky event with her daughter and son-in-law.

The “Gossip Girl” alumni explained to the crowd that their mother, “eternal optimist,” was the victim of “the worst crime she could commit against a woman.”

And while Makalpin had hidden her “unjust shame” throughout her life, Lively felt the need to share the story of her mother, saying, “If we named it, we changed it.”

“Simple Favor” star, 37, emphasized that she appreciated “all guys,” including her “sweet husband,” Reynolds, 48, as “kind and good when no one is watching.”

The couple began dating in 2011 and got married the following year.

They share four children: James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Orin, 2.

Lively also briefly hinted at her continued legal battle with her “It’ll End With Us” co-star Justin Bardoni.

The “Travel Pants Sister” star sued Bardoni, 41, of sexual harassment, claiming he launched a smear campaign against her. Bardoni, who directed the 2024 hit film, has vehemently denied the allegations and denied counter skating.

“I have a lot to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not a forum,” Lively told the star-studded crowd at Lincoln Center’s jazz. “What I talk about separately is the feeling that I am a woman who has the voice of today.”

Other celebrities at the event include Serena Williams, Snoop Dogg, Gale King, Demi Moore, Adam Scott and Adrien Brody.
