Residents of a Dallas suburb were treated to a surprise guest in their neighborhood Tuesday morning: a herd of goats.
According to an Arlington Police Department social media post, around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers received a call about a herd of goats roaming the neighborhood.
Officials said the herd escaped from its enclosure in the park and decided to go for a morning walk.
In body camera footage released by the department, an officer can be heard saying, “This is a mess.”

A team from Arlington Police Department was able to successfully surround the goat and return it to its enclosure.
“Who knew we were goat herders,” the officer laughed as he watched the video. “This is the most insane thing ever.”

The City of Arlington partnered with a company to bring hundreds of goats to the Crystal Canyon Natural Area to feed on the park’s undergrowth and invasive plants, clear waterways and reduce fire risk.

Arlington Police say all goats have now been located and no one was harmed during the adventure.
