President Donald Trump took to the stage in Las Vegas on Saturday night and immediately drew laughs from an enthusiastic crowd with his funny observations about his past and present detractors and failed opponents.
President Trump began his remarks by specifically mentioning his own successes before looking ahead to the defeated Biden administration.
After entering the Oval Office on Monday, President Trump said he was “moving with urgent and historic speed to fix all the woes of the Biden administration,” adding to the slew of executive orders he signed and He referred to Biden-era policies that were rescinded. day to day.
Like a man accustomed to attention and the spotlight, the 78-year-old Republican entertained the crowd at the Circa Resort & Casino rally with stories and jokes as he watched a new America dawn full of light and hope. I promised.
He boasted about world leaders hating him, adding, “If they like me, you're going to have trouble,” drawing first laughs.
At one point, he shared what the world leader allegedly divulged to him last year, saying he tried to contact then-President Joe Biden but “never answered the phone.”
The anonymous world leader was told the then-president would call him back within two months. “Two months?” Trump told the crowd. “Yeah, that's his schedule, he's so busy sleeping.” The audience burst into laughter.
“Then, two months later, I don't get a call, and they say, 'I didn't get a call,'” the president said, pausing to laugh. “These stories are not all that exaggerated, let me tell you.”
Not exaggerating, perhaps a bit, but President Trump later made it clear that Biden would call him back, but only in “just a month.” Then he would never call, “and they could no longer call him.”
Meanwhile, Trump said he would pick up the phone and say, “Let's talk right now.”
He ultimately told the crowd what those who had come to the rally wanted to hear: “There's no tax on tips!”
