Wayne Brady has revealed to reporters that he believes his newfound sexuality, known as pansexuality, is actually the ultimate form of love and acceptance.
Brady hosted the 35th annual GLAAD Media Awards, sponsored by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.
While walking the red carpet, Brady spoke with reporters and answered questions about misconceptions about his sexuality.
“What do you think is the biggest misconception about what it means to identify as pansexual?” People magazine reporter Asked. “For a lot of people, it’s a word that’s foreign to them, even among queer people. So, for you, what’s the biggest misconception you’ve encountered since coming out?”
“I needed to do my research and find out what I was feeling,” Brady answered, before cutting himself off. “The biggest misconception, and I even joke about it on stage tonight, is that people think you’re an indecisive bisexual,” he continued.
“And let me be clear, no, no, no, no. The definition basically boils down to: It has nothing to do with sex or gender.”
“That means I’m free to fall in love with anyone here, whether you’re gay, straight, non-binary, transgender. I don’t care. It’s the person. In my heart, that’s what matters.” It’s the ultimate acceptance and love. ”
“So it’s a win for me,” Brady concluded.
The 51-year-old first revealed his full-on sexuality in August 2023, saying at the time that his mental health required “self-transparency”.
“I want to be free to love whoever I want, and this truth excites me and makes me a part of the LGBTQ+ family,” Brady said. declared.
“It’s an honor to stand here before you as a proud new member of the LGBTQIA family!” Brady said as he opened the ceremony.

Brady also hinted that gay people are still not treated equally, saying, “Until the world sees us all the same way, we will support each other.”
The ceremony was also hosted by drag queen Oprah Winfrey and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.
Winfrey received the award for “making a difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people and issues.”
