Super Bowl Sunday is Here!
Super Bowl Sunday has officially arrived! The game is set to start at 6:30 p.m. ET on February 8, and by around 10 p.m., either the Seattle Seahawks or the New England Patriots will emerge victorious, lifting the Lombardi Trophy. This means that some fans will be over the moon while others may experience varying degrees of disappointment.
While the game itself is packed with action, for a lot of viewers, it’s more about the festivities surrounding it than the teams playing. Those commercials? They’re bound to go viral. Plus, who doesn’t love the delicious snacks, whether you’re hosting a Super Bowl party or just lounging at home? And let me tell you, this year’s Super Bowl halftime show is going to be something special!
2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show Performers
This year’s halftime show will star Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, though many know him as Bad Bunny.
Bad Bunny is at the forefront of the music scene, and the NFL views him as a way to reach a massive global audience, hoping to boost their appeal even further. However, he has recently sparked some backlash from right-wing commentators and officials due to his outspoken criticisms of the current administration’s policies on immigration. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and others have expressed their disapproval, even threatening immigration enforcement in the Bay Area during the game. While this statement was later rescinded, it’s probable that his performance will generate quite a buzz on right-wing social media and beyond during and after the event.
Regardless of any controversy, I’m pretty sure Bad Bunny will put on an amazing show, perhaps with a surprise guest or two. J. Balvin, for instance, is there to support Bad Bunny but, according to statements he made, won’t actually perform this time. He was part of the Super Bowl halftime performance before, appearing alongside Bad Bunny during the Shakira and Jennifer Lopez show back in 2020.
As for potential surprise guests, nothing’s been confirmed yet. Still, I wouldn’t be shocked to see someone like Shakira or Jennifer Lopez pop in. Other artists like Cardi B, Raul Alejandro, and Marc Anthony might also make appearances. That would make sense, especially with Cardi B’s tour starting just a few days after the Super Bowl. Plus, there’s her connection to Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, which could lead to her being in attendance and maybe even surprising everyone with a performance.
What Time Does the Halftime Show Start?
The Super Bowl kicks off around 6:30 p.m. ET, with the halftime show likely starting around 8 or 8:15 p.m. Bad Bunny and guests generally have about 12 to 15 minutes to perform. FanDuel has set the over/under for songs at 11.5, which suggests we can anticipate quite a few numbers tonight.
How Can I Watch the Halftime Show?
This year’s Super Bowl will be aired on NBC. It will also be available for streaming on platforms like Peacock, as well as through services like DirecTV Stream, Sling TV, YouTube TV, and Hulu + Live TV.
