As the NCAA football season kicks off its second week, Ole Miss is gearing up to start SEC play against Kentucky this afternoon.
This season, Ole Miss is in the midst of a rebuild, especially after losing key players like Jaxson Dart and Walter Nolen, who were both first-round picks in the NFL Draft. Only four starters are back from last year’s team that finished with a solid 10-3 record. They began this season ranked 21st in the AP Top 25 poll, and after a dominating 63-7 win over Georgia State last week, they’ve climbed to 20th.
On the other hand, Kentucky kicked off their 2025 season with a win over Toledo, finishing 24-16. In his first meeting against the Wildcats, senior quarterback Zach Calzada completed 23 of 30 passes for 85 yards, securing one touchdown but also throwing an interception.
Looking back, the last time these two SEC teams faced off was in September 2024, where Kentucky emerged victorious with a close 20-17 scoreline.
