“We can't keep repeating the same talking points” under the second Trump administration, MSNBC columnist Charlie Sykes told host Nicole Wallace on Friday's “Deadline.”
Host Nicole Wallace said, “I'd rather have Donald Trump's mean tweets than a Republican with a history of appearing on TV shows and drunkenly taking female staffers to strip clubs at work.'' What would success look like if we were afraid of it?” Suspected rape? What would success look like if either of the two major political parties feared President Trump more than they wanted him to be in charge of every man and woman in the military?”
Sykes said, “Yes, that's the world we live in. And we're seeing this on display right now. I mean, people like Joni Ernst to Pete Hegseth. The fact that he falls over shows that.”
He added: “So I think this was one of those lessons that we all have to do better. You can't keep repeating the same talking points. You can't use the same terminology. That person's character We can't just think they're going to be rejected because it's bad. We have to be very clear about what this means for them and what it means for their lives and their children's lives. No.”
