We discovered the exact lip oil used by figure skater Alysa Liu at Rare Beauty.

Alisa Liu has an extraordinary ability.

This American figure skater recently secured a gold medal in the Winter Olympics’ free skating competition, marking the first time in 24 years that an American has won in this category.

Before she accepted her medal, however, she went for another eye-catching item: the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tint Lip Oil.

Viewers noticed something curious during her appearance—she humorously asked, “Where’s my lipstick?” It didn’t take long for us to realize she was referring to a product from Selena Gomez’s beauty line.

This lip oil starts off glossy before transitioning into a lightweight oil, which aims to enhance lip volume without any sticky feeling.

According to Gomez, the inspiration for the product stemmed from wanting to achieve a similar rosy look on the lips as she had created for her cheeks with her Soft Pinch Liquid Blush. She mentioned in an interview that developing this special formula took two years due to its unique composition.

While Gomez described her favorite shade as “happy,” for Liu, we might guess it leans more towards something like “honesty” or “joy.”

Although the specific shade Liu used hasn’t been disclosed, Rare Beauty did share a supportive post on Instagram congratulating her and playfully claiming, “She’s exactly like me.”

Given the typical sponsorship deals for Olympic athletes, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 20-year-old skater featured in a future campaign for Gomez’s brand.

Liu is known for her adventurous style choices, from her DIY “smiley” frenulum piercing to her iconic striped hair colors.

Interestingly, during one of her interviews, she mused, “Did you know that trees have growth rings that tell their age?” and mentioned her habit of adding a new color to her hair each year.
