We Extend Our Boundless Thanks to God

Thanksgiving Proclamation by President Trump

In his Thanksgiving proclamation, President Donald Trump expressed that America holds “unbounded gratitude to Almighty God.” This tradition traces back to President George Washington, who established a national day of thanksgiving in 1789. Washington emphasized the importance of acknowledging God’s providence and seeking His protection and favor.

President Trump recalled the Civil War era, noting how President Abraham Lincoln called for a “day of thanksgiving and praise to our gracious Father who dwells in heaven.”

Trump’s proclamation highlighted that the spirit of respect and gratitude has shaped America’s identity across generations, making it “the strongest, greatest, and most resilient nation the world has ever known.”

He referenced the journey from the pilgrims to the patriots, pioneers, and warriors, stating that the essence of gratitude celebrated in the first Thanksgiving over 400 years ago embodies what it means to be American. He acknowledged that God has blessed the nation and the world with abundance this year and indicated a positive outlook for America’s economy, living costs, global peace, sovereignty, and the revitalization of the American spirit.

This Thanksgiving, as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary of independence, Trump called upon the values of faith and determination from American history’s giants, affirming a commitment to honor their sacrifices and offer infinite gratitude to God for His blessings.

This proclamation was issued shortly after a tragic incident in which a gunman, identified as Rahmanullah Rakanwar, fatally shot National Guardsmen Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolf near the White House, with both guards remaining in critical condition and Lakhanwal suffering serious injuries.
