‘We Have a Massive Communication Problem in this Party’

Democratic strategist Julie Roginski said Wednesday on “MSNBC Report” that Democrats have a “significant communication problem.”

“There's a big communication problem in this party, and I've been talking about it for years,” Roginski said. We need people on the front lines of communication, not to talk to them or lecture them, but to talk to them and explain to them what the Democratic Party has been doing in a very colloquial way.”

She went on to say, “I think Joe Biden has had an extraordinary record over the last four years, but unfortunately the White House and the campaign have had a hard time explaining it in a way that people don't understand what that record is.” So, from that perspective, we can look at the specifics of how Democratic policies will improve people's lives, and how Donald Trump's policies will harm people individually. We desperately need to deploy messengers who can convey this message to people in the same way.”

Roginski added, “We can't waste time talking about a $1.2 billion plan. We need to know why bridges in Buck County, Pennsylvania are being built, why bridges in the Keys are being built. Why are roads being paved and roads being brought back to Saginaw, Michigan and other specific towns and specific counties that people can understand? It's a very personal perspective on how these policies are serving them. Until we learn how to do that effectively, it's the future of our party. I'm worried about this, because no matter how great your policy is, if you can't explain it to the people, they won't hear it.
