President Trump-backed Republican Senate candidate Bernie Moreno celebrated his first victory in the Ohio primary on Tuesday night, an opportunity for Republicans to retire “old communist” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) revealed that he had obtained.
Moreno defeated establishment Republican state Sen. Matt Dolan (R) and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose in the Buckeye State on Tuesday. The Republican Senate primary was called at 8:35 p.m. ET, with about 25% of the vote counted, the Associated Press reported.

Moreno spent much of his victory speech thanking the many people who supported him and his campaign, including former President Donald Trump.
“I also want to thank President Trump. I just got off the phone with President Trump. You know, the reality is we have an opportunity right now,” Moreno said.
“We now have an opportunity to retire this old Communist, send him to a nursing home, and save this country, because that’s what we’re going to do,” he said.
“And I want to thank President Trump for everything he’s done for me, this campaign, his unwavering support, his love for this country, because I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone love this country as much as he does. ”. Thank you, President Trump,” he said, also thanking U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) for his support and had kind words for his opponent.
But Moreno said now is the time for the party to come together and focus on defeating Democratic opponent Sherrod Brown.
“I think what we need to do now is understand that as a fully united party, we have one mission, and that is to get rid of Sherrod Brown. And Sherrod “By removing Brown, we are returning to the United States Senate,” Moreno said. “And by returning to the United States Senate, I will get this country back on track.”
“When I first came to South Florida as a kid, when I was 5 years old, I thought it was a field trip,” said Moreno, who was born in South America. He explained, “I started researching the Founders and the Declaration of Independence and the Constitutional Convention.”
“And this is amazing, because when Sherrod Brown came into Washington, D.C., in 1789, we had no idea he would still be here in the Presidency.” he joked, noting that Brown has been in political office since Richard Nixon was president. “So what is he doing? He says he’s advocating for working class Americans, so let’s dig into that a little bit,” he continued.

Moreno also openly questioned whether Brown would honor Joe Biden’s 99 percent voting record and whether he was the kind of person Joe Biden would want to associate with. was holding
