We Need to Take Away Visas from Foreigners Who Celebrate the Killing of a Political Figure Like Charlie Kirk

In a recent interview, Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the assassination of political figures in the U.S., specifically mentioning Charlie Kirk.

“When we invite individuals to the United States, whether as students or tourists, we need to set high standards,” Rubio stated. “We shouldn’t bring in people who display negative and harmful behavior.” He emphasized the importance of canceling visas for those already present in the country.

His remarks come shortly after the killing of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was shot during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.

Deputy Chief Christopher Landau echoed these sentiments, noting the day after Kirk’s assassination that foreigners who express admiration for violence and hatred do not belong in America. He instructed consular officials to “take appropriate action” regarding any such comments related to Kirk’s murder.

“Please inform me about these remarks so that @Statedept can ensure the safety of Americans,” Landau urged.

Landau also reacted to derogatory comments made by Brazilian neurosurgeon Ricardo Barbosa on social media. He labeled these remarks as particularly cold and mentioned that he had directed officials handling consular affairs to cancel Barbosa’s visa.

When asked about canceling visas for foreigners publicly celebrating the tragedy, President Donald Trump remarked, “We’re reviewing the names… we don’t condone any sort of celebration over these events.”
