We Should Investigate ‘Collusion’ Between Press, Big Technology, National Security on Hunter Biden

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said Sunday on CNN's “State of the Union” that Congress could be colluding with journalists, big tech companies and national security officials to suppress Hunter Biden. He said sexuality needs to be “seriously considered”. Talking about laptops.

A partial transcription follows:

TAPPER: One of the voices that I've heard people voice concerns about is a guy named Kash Patel. He belonged to the NSC. He briefly served as chief of staff at the Pentagon. Here's what he said on Steve Bannon's podcast earlier this week:

Kash Patel: We seek out conspirators not only in government but also in the media. Yes, we will go after members of the media who lied about the American people helping Joe Biden rig the presidential election. we will follow you.

Vance: Look, I know Kash very well. I didn't see the full context of the clip, but let me talk about what I think he was talking about.

TAPPER: You sound like the president of the University of Pennsylvania.

Vance: In 2020, we learned that there was a tremendous amount of evidence in this country that was suppressed by collusion between the national security states.

TAPPER: Are you talking about Hunter Biden's laptop?

VANCE: Hunter Biden's laptop story.

Tapper: It was there.

VANCE: Why I'm Repressed on Social Media.

Tapper: On Twitter, it's about a day or two.

Vance: Jake, millions of Americans would have seen the research that has been done on this but for the collusion between these technology companies and media personnel with security clearances. I didn't see that article. These people used the trust they had earned over a lifetime of public service to lie to the American people.

Tapper: So you agree with Kash Patel?

Vance: I agree that we need to take a serious look at what kind of collusion there has been between members of the press, big tech companies, and national security officials. Jake, that's not journalism. Obtaining classified information, lying to the American public, and convincing big tech companies to censor anti-Joe Biden articles is not journalism. That's not journalism. It's a collaboration between government and journalism. It's the opposite.

Tapper: Back when there was no censorship, Donald Trump was president, so there was no one in the government, and the Biden folks who were asking that weren't in the government at the time. But as someone who tried to see the laptop, I can tell you that Rudy Giuliani won't show us the laptop. He wouldn't let us do that. So we couldn't report on it because he wanted us to follow his word.

Vance: I'm not really concerned about what you're reporting, but millions of Americans get their news through social media, and the FBI is working with social media companies to I've been worrying about the fact that I know I'm sensing stories. . Let's look at the threats to democracy. That's crazy. The FBI is encouraging private companies to sensor journalists.
