Trump Visits Law Enforcement in D.C.

On Thursday, President Donald Trump made a stop at the U.S. Park Police Anacostia Operations Facility in Washington, D.C. He addressed a crowd of over 300 law enforcement personnel, including National Guard troops, commending their efforts and sharing plans for new “beautification” projects in the city.

While thanking the officers for their support in his crime-fighting initiatives, Trump also revealed plans to enhance city parks, even suggesting they should be re-grassed to mimic his golf courses.

He was joined by about 300 members from various agencies, including the DEA, ATF, U.S. Marshals, and the FBI. Both Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum were present as well.

“You people are winners, and I just think it’s such an honor to be with you. We’re going to make Washington, D.C., great again,” he said, expressing his commitment to support them.

Trump mentioned his intention to seek funding from Congress for these federal initiatives aimed at improving D.C. He emphasized his vision to transform the capital.

“We’re going to have the best capital ever,” he assured. “It’s going to look better than it ever did.”

He elaborated on plans to redo pavements and revitalize medians, promising to quickly remove graffiti.

Furthermore, the president shared ideas to upgrade parks featuring new sprinkler systems and replace outdated signs around the city.

“We have a life, and grass has a life, and the grass here died about 40 years ago,” Trump remarked. “Let’s say, at the end of a year, this place will be maxed out in terms of beauty.”

During his visit, he brought hamburgers and pizza for the officers, reportedly ordering the pizza from D.C.’s Wiseguy Pizza. Trump expressed a desire to dine with them before they resumed their duties.

“We’re going to celebrate, and then we’re going to get back to work,” he stated.

In a related engagement, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth visited the Washington, D.C., Armory, where he met with National Guard troops to discuss their role in securing the city.

“God bless these brave men and women who are protecting our nation’s capital,” Hegseth shared on social media, posting photos of his interactions with the guardsmen.
