Texas Governor Investigates H-1B Visa Abuse

Following recent discoveries regarding the mishandling of H-1B visas in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has ordered a halt to new H-1B visa applications for the state. He’s also initiated a probe into the potential abuse of these visas.

Abbott stated, “Given the recent reports on abuses within the H-1B visa program and as the federal government revisits the program’s effectiveness in ensuring jobs for Americans, I am instructing all state agencies to freeze new applications as detailed in my letter.”

The Governor pointed out evidence indicating that some employers are exploiting this program by not adequately searching for qualified U.S. workers. In the most egregious cases, U.S. workers have been dismissed and replaced by H-1B visa holders—often for reduced wages.

He remarked, “Instead of its initial goal of attracting top talent from abroad to fulfill truly unique labor needs, this program has frequently been misused for positions that Texans could adequately fill.”

Sarah Gonzalez, a host on Blaze TV, emphasized the importance of allowing this investigation to proceed, saying, “Let’s see how far they’re willing to go. This step is crucial for our nation, as it aims to help dislocated American workers find jobs again.”

She expressed a commitment to uncovering every aspect of the situation, from the H-1B visa to its associated H-4 visas. “Interestingly, an H-1B visa holder’s spouse and children can also obtain visas, which comes with even less regulation regarding the type of jobs they can accept,” she noted.

Gonzalez pointed out, “If someone on an H-4 visa wants to work at a place like McDonald’s, there are no barriers stopping them.”

She concluded, “It’s a complete scheme, and I’ll bring all the details to light.”
