‘We won’t miss you’: Bill Maher says he’s ‘okay’ with abortion as ‘murder’

Comedian Bill Maher said Friday on “Real Time with Bill Maher” that while some people think abortion is “murder,” he’s “okay with it.”

Maher told his guest Gillian Tett, British author and journalist Piers Morgan, and the audience that pro-lifers are “in a sense” correct in saying abortion is “murder.” Later, she emphasized why she was “okay” with abortion.

“None of you believe this is murder. That’s why I don’t understand 15 weeks. Or President Trump’s plan is to ‘leave it to the states.’ Does that mean killing babies is OK in some states? ” Maher asked.

“I can respect the absolutist position. I really can,” he continued. “I scold the left when they say, ‘Oh, they just hate women and people who are pro-life.’ They don’t hate women who are pro-choice. I just made it up. They think it’s murder. And that’s kind of the thing. I’m okay with that. I am. Because there’s 8 billion people in the world. Sorry, I We will not let you go. That is my position.”

Donald Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, said in a video published on Truth Social on Monday that he believes abortion regulation should be left up to states. He also commented that IVF treatment should remain accessible. (Related: Donald Trump says there must be three exceptions to abortion)

Former President Trump previously criticized Republican lawmakers for their “insufficient response” to the abortion issue in the 2022 midterm elections on Truth Social in January 2023. President Trump said the losses suffered by various Republican candidates were “not my fault.”
