Later that night, Suzanne called a family friend and told her she was stopping by. She also called her mother to tell her that her Brad attacked her and injured her arm, back and neck, according to court records. She arrived at a family friend's house around 10pm at 9:25pm. A family friend's neighbor reported seeing Brad and Suzanne arguing loudly in front of his house and “struggling physically.”

Neighbors observed that Suzanne was “trying to grasp when Mr. Simpson tried to pull her down.” The neighbors also observed him chasing after his wife and trying to grab her, according to the documents. The neighbor later heard screams coming from the wooded area across from his house.

About an hour after seeing Suzanne and Brad Simpson fighting in front of their home, the same neighbor returned about an hour after Brad's truck left the area.

The next morning, on October 7th, surveillance footage from a San Antonio Heb grocery store captured Brad and his truck.

Later that morning, he bought food at a drive-thru in Kendall County, Texas, and camera footage shot three white garbage bags, a large trash can, an ice chest, an “icy chest, a “big bulky item” wrapped in a “blue tarp” and held together.

Shortly after the drive-thru, Brad allegedly saw him buy insect repellent with two bags of cement, a construction bucket, a box of heavy-duty garbage bags, a Clorox disinfectant spray and cash at a nearby Home Depot.

Before purchasing, Brad asked an unknown man in the parking lot for directions to the nearest dump of Bone. His phone was clearly off at the time.

That same morning, at a gas station, surveillance footage filmed Brad's truck, missing white garbage bags, but blue tarps, fire racks and trash cans were still there.

After picking up his daughter from school in the afternoon, Brad was found on another surveillance camera that “cleans and cleans the drive front and rear passenger sides” of the truck in a San Antonio car wash.

A friend of Suzanne's report that she went missing on the evening of October 7th. He reportedly had not seen her at about 11pm on October 6th when police contacted Brad about his wife's loss.

On October 8th, Brad exchanged text messages with longtime friend and business partner James “Val” Cotter.

“If you're in Bandera, you can get it to meet me at your home – can you get it?” Simpson is said to have texted Cotter. “I don't have much time.”

In a later text to Brad, Cotter wrote, “Go here!! I won't tell anyone,” and “You are my brother.”

Cotter was accused of tampering with evidence intended to undermine the investigation and possession of a weapon prohibited in Suzanne's disappearance. He posted the bonds in November 2024.

Authorities arrested Brad and Cotter on October 9, 2024 and October 21, 2024.

On October 9th, the Texas Rangers ran a search warrant for Brad's property in Bandera County, where they found a ground-level burn site with burnt laptops and multiple mobile phone devices. They also searched his truck to identify the dirt that tested “presumably positive for blood” and tested the test that was determined to be Blood.

In December, Bexar County Criminal and Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzalez announced in a press release that Brad had “hidden” and “return” a “return” two days after Suzanne's loss of failure, and authorities informed the family that Suzanne's DNA had been identified in a saw.
