Weed could make you schizophrenic

Marijuana may be treated as a harmless recreational drug, but its effects can be devastating.

“Some people say it’s really helped them.” Allie Beth Stuckey “I’ve spoken to medical experts who say medical marijuana doesn’t exist.”

Stuckey believes marijuana dulls users’ potential and makes them fat and lazy, but that’s not her only problem with the drug.

Not only is marijuana one of the most widely used drugs in the United States, but it also has dire effects on some people, even those who were taught it was harmless.

A study led by researchers at the University of Toronto and published in May found that teenagers who used marijuana were 11 times more likely to develop mental illness than those who didn’t.

When the analysis was limited to emergency room visits and hospitalizations, there was a 27-fold increase in psychiatric disorders among teens who used marijuana.

Other studies, conducted in Denmark and the UK, found a link between heavy marijuana use and psychiatric disorders including depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Several other studies have shown similar results, and doctors are beginning to sound the alarm about marijuana use and psychosis.

“Marijuana is not harmless or harmless, it can lead to all kinds of problems. Like I said, it can lead to drug use, and today, because it’s legalized, it’s so readily available and accessible, and it’s setting your kids up to fail,” Stuckey says to parents who may believe marijuana isn’t a problem.

The drug is now particularly dangerous because it is often laced with fentanyl, which Stuckey called “a consequence of open borders.”

“The THC content of marijuana has increased over the last few decades, and it’s not the same as it was 30 years ago when skiers were getting a little high,” Stuckey said.
