Week 12 NFL Survivor pool strategy with safe, value, trap picks

Thanksgiving week is just around the corner, and many teams are looking to end Week 12 with something to be thankful for. The NFL playoffs are still nearly two months away, but the competition for playoff spots is heating up.

Week 11 featured several important results, including the Bills holding off the Chiefs, the Seahawks defeating the 49ers, the Eagles defeating the Commanders, the Steelers taking on the Ravens, and the Broncos having a strong performance against the Broncos. I was seen. We're still at least a few weeks away from anyone clinching a playoff spot, but the Bills and Texans are rapidly approaching that point.

It was a relatively light week for upsets, but the result sent a few more players back to the survivor pool. After thwarting a Bears field goal attempt late, the Packers ran away with the win over Chicago and came close with a weekly trap pick.

Week 12 now begins. This week is the busiest bye week of the year, with six teams missing the weekend. That group includes the Falcons, Bills, Bengals, Saints, Jets and Jaguars. This leaves 26 teams to choose from in Week 12 Survivor. Below are my complete selections. There are a lot of options to consider, and each week this season we'll be breaking down the safest picks, the most valuable picks, and the potential trap picks.

safest pick

Chiefs vs Panthers
Commanders who control the cowboys

Why avoid these choices? The Chiefs are on the road and the Commanders are in a divisional game. Nevertheless, why are these safe picks? The Panthers are a bad football team, but the Cowboys might be even worse right now.

the most valuable choice

dolphins vs patriots

It's a divisional matchup, but the Dolphins are coming back to life and the Patriots are not where they should be. New England is dangerous, but Miami home games have some value.

trap pick

Steelers vs. Browns
Broncos vs. Raiders

I've focused on The Division games above, but I'd draw the line at Lord's Division games if possible. Pittsburgh and Denver should both win, but it's a little too risky.
