Weezer bassist’s spouse Jillian Shriner enters a not guilty plea for shooting at LA police officers.

Gillian Schliner, spouse of Weezer’s bassist Scott Schliner, entered a not guilty plea to two felony charges this week. This follows allegations that she shot a police officer outside her Los Angeles residence.

The 51-year-old reportedly left the hospital after being treated for serious injuries and is facing charges related to reckless use of a semi-automatic firearm, as noted by ABC 7.

Initially, she was charged with attempted murder after an unusual standoff on April 8, during which she allegedly confronted police with a gun in her yard.

Officers were pursuing suspects involved in a hit-and-run incident who had crashed their vehicle and hidden in Schliner’s neighborhood. Bodycam footage showed police identifying themselves and repeatedly instructing her to drop her weapon before the shots were fired.

Prosecutors claim that Schliner aimed the firearm at the officers and fired first, prompting the police to return fire. After sustaining a life-threatening injury, she was later released on $1 million bail.

Scott and Gillian Schliner have been married since 2005 and have two adopted children. Beyond her marriage to a rock musician, Schliner has authored several bestselling non-fiction books under her maiden name, Gillian Lauren.

Some of her notable works include “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem,” detailing her experiences with Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei, and “Behold, Monster,” which is a biography of serial killer Samuel Little.
