Well-known Comedian Sarah Silverman Claims Her Grandfather Took the Life of Her Baby Brother

Sarah Silverman’s Family Revelation

Recently, actress and comedian Sarah Silverman shared a shocking revelation about her family history. She disclosed that her grandfather had, in fact, caused her brother’s death, a truth that only came to light for him in 2022.

In an interview with Rolling Stone published on May 18, Silverman elaborated on this disturbing revelation. She mentioned that although her father was aware of his brother’s death, it was only a year before he passed away that he learned the full story of how it occurred. Apparently, after one of her shows, he revealed to her that his father was responsible.

Silverman recalled her father saying, “He always felt like he was crying or something,” as he recounted how he thought his grandfather had “shaken him and killed him in a fit of rage.”

Throughout her life, Silverman heard stories about the abuse her grandfather inflicted on her father during his childhood.

She also recounted how, five years before her own birth, her mother had won a cruise on a game show, while they left her brother, Jeffrey, with her grandfather. There was a poignant memory she shared about a car ride with her grandmother, during which she hesitated to buckle her seatbelt. Young Silverman quipped, “Yeah, we don’t want to end up like Jeffrey.” It was a dark joke that seemed to mirror the secrets that lingered in her family.

There was always an air of mystery surrounding the circumstances of her brother’s death. Silverman vaguely recollected being informed that something had happened in the crib that led to him suffocating. However, she questioned the lack of any lawsuit against the crib company, hinting at possible concealment.

In 2022, during her father’s attendance at a production of “Bedwetter in Manhattan,” everything began to click into place for Silverman. The musical featured a scene where young Sarah made a joke about Jeffrey’s death. That’s when her father connected the dots between their grandfather’s violent behavior and her brother’s tragic loss.

Reflecting on this moment, Silverman shared, “As soon as he said it, it was like, ‘Of course, that’s what happened.'” She also noted that her grandmother had often stood by her husband, witnessing the abuse firsthand. Unfortunately, Silverman expressed her regret at not being able to ask her mother for further clarification since she had already passed away.
