A “well-trained…ninja” from Chile robbed a wealthy American outside Detroit, Michigan, after entering the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. It is said that he is working.
In an interview with FOX 2 Detroit, Bouchard spoke about the rise of foreign thieves of South American origin operating across the United States, including in the Detroit suburbs, where wealthy residents are targeted for gold, jewelry and designer handbags. I sounded the alarm again.
“The Chilean gangs are attacking us very hard. Cash, jewelry, very high-end wallets, that’s their target,” Bouchard said.
The guys that come here are very well trained and highly organized and look like ninjas. They are all masked, gloved, and carrying backpacks containing the necessary tools for the robbery. [Emphasis added]
The problem is so serious in the Detroit suburbs that Bouchard has created a task force dedicated to combating foreign thieves.
“In the last three or four days, something very similar has happened… [cases]” Bouchard said. “The house is vacant, a very large luxury residence, and the area has little to no neighborhood oversight.”
In one case, a group of Chilean robbers stole $800,000 worth of jewelry and cash from a suburban Detroit home. Bouchard said no specific locations were being targeted. Instead, gangs target mansions whose wealthy residents have left the city.
“All intelligence estimates suggest it’s coming from Chile. There are currently more than 100 teams of four to six people operating in the United States,” Bouchard said.
As Breitbart News reports, foreign thieves often use the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) to enter the United States. The VWP allows these foreign nationals to avoid obtaining a visa to secure entry to the United States and instead allows them to stay in the United States. You can stay in the country without a visa for up to 90 days.
Bouchard said lawmakers in Washington, D.C., should exclude Chile from the VWP. In fiscal year 2022, approximately 85,000 Foreign nationals who arrived in the United States on the VWP overstayed their allotted 90 days, including more than 10,300 from Chile.
Since 1986, every presidential administration has continued to expand the VWP despite security warnings. be familiar with In the 9/11 Commission Staff Report. For example, in 2019, former President Trump expanded the VWP to include Poland. In 2021, President Joe Biden expanded the VWP to include Croatia and allowed Israel to join the VWP in 2023.
