Wendell Carter, a forward for the Orlando Magic, has addressed speculation about his relationship with Angel Reese, a star player for the Chicago Sky.
During a recent appearance on the “Run It Back” show, co-hosted by former NBA player Chandler Parsons, Carter was asked about their rumored romance. He couldn’t help but smile throughout the question.
“That’s definitely my buddy, we were trapped,” the 26-year-old Carter said. “You know when you have to look into it. I’ll leave it at that. But it’s my girlfriend. We did lock it up.”
Carter chuckled when another co-host, Michelle Beadle, referred to Reese as a “buddy,” prompting laughs from the group.
Lou Williams, also a former NBA player, humorously suggested that Carter should reconsider that “homie” label. “Hey, listen, here’s how to clean it up,” he advised. “Because when I get a text message, I’m like, ‘Oh, buddy?'”
Williams playfully added, “I wasn’t going to get involved, but hey, just don’t do that anymore!”
The conversation continued with Parsons joking about Carter landing in the doghouse soon, while Beadle emphasized, “Homie’s rough.”
Though Reese hasn’t directly commented on the rumors, she has posted on social media indicating they are spending time together. They were first linked romantically earlier this year.
Reese attended Carter’s birthday celebration in May and later, in July, Carter was seen supporting her at the WNBA All-Star Game, wearing a shirt featuring her image.
Reese, who frequently goes to Magic games this season, seems to spend considerable time in Florida during the offseason. Recently, she even shared a photo of herself in Magic gear.
